Illustrations for Latvian magazine "Ir"

One of my dreams for the last half a year has been to collaborate with Latvian weekly economics, politics, culture and life magazine "Ir", a magazine that I highly respect for the level of journalism and overall quality it represents. Here is one of the full page illustrations that were published in "Ir" (this one is of Latvian ex-president Zatlers).

N magazine. PRINTED

Here it is, all printed on beautiful paper, so nice to look at and (if you know German) amazing to read! Thank you J.B., for being an incredible Art Director, it was fantastic to work together. More info on the magazine here: http://www.nachmann.com/eng/n-magazine/n7.html

N magazine. p r o c e s s

Over the last few months I was working on illustrations for "N7",  a magazine issued by Nachmann Rechtsanwälte that is both entertaining and informative, focussing on interesting topics that range from art, culture and science to politics and business. The magazine was originally conceived by Tyler Brûlé, the inventor of Wallpaper magazine and  the editor-in-chief of Monocle. Issues N1 to N5 were designed by Mirko Borsche. The journalistic aspects of the magazine bear the hallmark of former TV presenter Andreas Lukoschik. It is now published and here's some insight in the process:

All is Quiet, Christmas cards

10 days by the sea

Last weeks have been a bit crazy, full of exciting things happening and new projects ( that I will tell you about when things get published) We all felt like we needed to get away for a bit, so we packed our bags and left London for 10 days full of early mornings by the sea, sandy coffees, many many sandcastles, and night sky full of stars.

Stamp Designs

Latvia's Post is organizing a competition between Latvian creatives to design a new postage stamp. A very exciting project, I found working on such a small scale quite a challenge. Here's some examples, hope you like them.  For some of them I used a starling that is a common and well loved Latvian bird. It always migrates in autumn, but the spring starts with all of them coming back.
